For hand tapping of steel, aluminum, and cast iron, suitable lubricants include cutting oils, tapping fluids, and lubricating oils. These lubricants help to reduce friction and heat during the tapping process, prolonging the life of the tap and improving the quality of the threads. When tapping steel, a cutting oil or tapping fluid with high lubricity is recommended to handle the hardness of the material. For aluminum, a light cutting oil or lubricating oil is suitable to prevent galling and ensure smooth tapping. When tapping cast iron, a heavy-duty cutting oil or tapping fluid is preferred to handle the abrasive nature of the material. **

For hand tapping threads in steel, aluminum, and cast iron, suitable lubricants include cutting oils, tapping fluids, or even motor oil. These lubricants help reduce friction and heat during the tapping process, which can prolong the life of the tap and improve the quality of the threads. It is important to choose a lubricant that is compatible with the specific material being tapped to ensure optimal performance. **
